Hunter Community Languages
WRHZCS is proud to be part of Hunter Community Languages, guided and supported by Education Officer Kara.
From November 2022 to May 2024, six of our teachers were honoured for their Outstanding Contributions to Community Languages Education, receiving official certifications from the NSW Department of Education’s Community Language School Program (CLSP).
This recognition celebrates their dedication, passion, and impact on our students and community.
2020-2021 Community Languages Multicultural Grants
WRHZCS proudly received support from the Community Languages Multicultural Grants of the Department of Home Affairs to deliver and complete the project “Innovating Teaching Programs and Strengthening Goal-Oriented Chinese Teaching Services.”
This initiative has brought remarkable results:
Modernising our educational approach and thinking.
Renovating our teaching programs.
Developing a series of creative, original teaching materials.
Upgrading teaching techniques.
Establishing a new school to meet emerging community needs.

2022-2023 “I Love Ryde” Project
Ryde City Council
Project Purpose: “Build up connections of Chinese Teaching service with the community real life of The Ryde Council LG”.
The Main outcomes achieved:
Establishment of School Newsletter.
Completion of “How much do we know about Ryde where our school is in?
“Introduction of Ryde “(in English and Chinese versions).
Teaching materials were developed with Ryde’s history and present development as the core.
Ryde community events were introduced to the class activities, combining learning Chinese with real-life community situations.
Students went out to perform successfully on the social stage.
Enjoy Learning Chinese in a Connected Community.
Wonderful changes have happened in the school.
2024- 2025 Community Language Schools Grants

West Ryde Public School (WRPS): has hosted and fully supported Hui Zhi Chinese School since 2010
The Council of Ryde City: supported WRHZCS’s 2022-2023 “I Love Ryde” Project
In 2023 and 2024, two WRHZCS students were awarded by the“Ryde Excellent Schools” program. The Mayor and the Councillor of the Ryde City Council had visited and given speeches at the events of school.
The school has always worked closely with parents and appreciate their ongoing trust and cooperation.
